Heart of the Valley Animal Shelter

Classroom & Community Presentations

In addition to shelter tours, Heart of the Valley staff are available to give off-site presentations for your school or organization. Most presentations focus on the role of the shelter and responsible pet ownership and include a shelter dog. Another topic popular with young people is dog safety. Given enough lead time, we can happily tailor a presentation appropriate to any group.

To learn more about presentation possibilities, or to book a presentation, please contact the Volunteer & Education Manager at (406) 388-9399 or volunteer@heartofthevalleyshelter.org.

Thank you to Hawk's Nest Preschool for inviting Emily Wallace, HOV Volunteer & Education Manager, and the recently adopted Chesapeke Bay Retriever, Maize, into their classroom.

The kids shared stories about their pets and what it means to be kind to animals. We also talked about what an animal shelter is.

Thank you kids for being SO kind to Maize and for raising a grand total of $75.55 for the shelter. They also made a colorful mural that is hanging in the administrative hallway. Come check it out!
